For now: wash hands often, don't touch your face, keep a healthy distance, don't go out if you're sick, stay hydrated, add vitamins (c, d, zinc) to your regimen, eat well, get plenty of rest and try to enjoy the down time

Of course you want to limit the downtime of the unit, but I wouldn't incur an unreasonable extra expense for the sole reason of finishing earlier to better your opportunity to rent it.The areas most affected by winter moves seem to be the places with harsh winters.

If you can handle an older car with less payment/insurance but maybe down for a day or 2 for maintenance verses a newer car higher payment/insurance probably less downtime for maintenance, it’s all up to you.
