@Alex MacKenzieIf you're coming from Royal Oak I'm guessing your used to very nice neighborhoods.I'm a big fan of owning rentals in the Dearborn/Dearborn Heights market.

I know Fair Oaks (greater Sac) area well.  

The last 4 plex I saw but missed out on was a 5 iron away from one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Sacramento (Sierra Oaks)

Maybe even spray the oak cabinets white, that seems to be all the rage these days.  

For a quick background, I moved to Royal Oak, MI in July 2014 and purchased a property to live in. 

It's a little awkward because it hugs the back of the house tight, between the house and a large oak tree.

Having said that, I was wondering about the good/attractive areas (from investment perspective) such as  Blue Island, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Forest, Shorewood, Crest Hill, Lockport, Yorkville, Plainfield, Romeoville, Bolingbrook.
