That said, plenty of successful investors do it without one by working with experienced agents and focusing on building a strong network.

We're likely in decent shape the next year or so, but in my mind, inflation will be key to watch. higher inflation will mean higher rates- may be good for property values if the overall economy stays strong, but inflation will likely raise interest rates. 

@Emmanuel RugambaChicago is a great market for house hacking because of its affordable 2-4 unit properties, strong tenant demand, and diverse neighborhoods.

I would strongly recommend spending the money to meet with an attorney for an hour before you put anything in writing to your tenant.Good Luck!
