If you are flexible enough to allow a little more time you will reduce the chance of damage to walls and woodwork (happens when people try to move things too quickly) and increase the chance of the place being left at least empty and broom clean.I would trust but verify.

I never said I was a seasoned pro - I clearly discussed my starting dates and entry pointsTo see how many people come out of the woodworks to tell me that they don't think my first year in real estate (buying two properties for my family) was a success and that my preliminary plans are also no good - that I must not be privy to something for NOT investing in outside areas that have lower prices (despite me saying in these forums that my plans ARE to invest outside of my area) - its comicalI think the problem is that there are too many egos here who think that just because they have seen success doing their method, that their method is THE methodI'm here to learn, grow, be accountable (hence the posting) and transparent in my real estate decisions.

When I removed the paneling and ceiling tiles I found the walls and ceilings were Pepto-Bismol pink and the woodwork was florescent hot pink!

I have been a woodworker for the better part of a decade but have been casually dating with the idea of a fix and flip, along with a buy and hold lifestyle.I love the whole ideology behind real estate, but I have always held an "over analyse before jumping in" mentality and catch myself dragging my feet some days to try to progress to the next step (rather, the actual first step which is to buy a property) and get that analysis paralysis.

I've been working with relatives for years, worked with my old man for 22 yrs and pretty much the same with another cousin here in NY with our woodworking/construction business so I completely understand what you mean and where you are coming from but we've never experienced any issues in all those years even if we've had disagreements.

Added recessed lights, painted all the honey oak woodwork, vanities, and cabinets a lovely espresso (in at the time), neutral paint throughout, and new flooring (carpet, travertine, hardwood).
