Either way I turned a poor slob upbringing (I grew up in a ghetto area and we were homeless for awhile when I was a kid) into a pretty nice chunk of wealth.

I had a pretty standard upbringing here in England, resulting in me spending around £21,000 on a university degree and spending the few years after working sometimes 60 hours a week for £15,000.

Will try and incorporate more finance into her upbringing as the schools don’t teach that.

Most seasoned investors have really thin criteria so finding a property that will end up bringing in multiple offers from a single craigslist ad isn't as likely but all part of the game. 

@Alexander Alguire It was a few years ago and what's ended up bringing her is the tax benefits of being able to write-off depreciation and mortgage interest against the property income.  

And you were right (in your attempt) to point out that rentals provide ongoing income, not just upon exit.Sounds like he comes from a Wall Street or banking upbringing wherein you cannot get a good night's sleep unless you can convert your investments to cash in a nanosecond.No worries.

I grew up, and spent much of my upbringing, in the arts.

I may end up bringing new business other than my own transactions, but that would not be my main objective for getting the license, and I don't want to represent otherwise to the person sponsoring me.Would the broker-in-charge assign other duties or have other expectations to make it worth his/her time?
