NYC continues to appeal. 

If you do a good job, the judge will reward you with an eviction, usually 5 days for the tenant to vacate (five days because that is the time period that tenant has to file for an appeal of the judges verdict).  

Single-family homes benefit from a larger buyer pool, appealing to families and owner-occupants, which makes them easier to sell.

The buyer will, if they get screwed, attempt to get whatever they can from the seller, and from YOU, as the wholesaler. ...In sum - if the above sounds appealing to you, go for it! 

So you didn't do anything wrong, you just didn't know.As for alternatives, most counties have an appeals process... but you will likely lose if you go that way.  

Plenty of room for upgrades in the building which was appealing.
