For example he is trying to place a bookcase door to access a small amount of storage from the bathroom.  

It's really simple; when ya don't know what to do or how to do it HIRE and employ those who do.

Just curious if they do all properties or just a larger property.

If they’ve been around forever but only manage 50 doors, that’s a sign they aren’t growing for a reason.Good PMs are worth their weight in gold, but a bad one will wreck your investment.
