They have sent me a letter in the mail asking to buy my lot for almost double what the local values are so I'm not sure if this is a scam or just to good to be true.

Sometimes about romance or investment scams. 

The website 51west.properties also scores low on scam advisor ("owner is using a service to hide their identity, high number of suspicious websites on the server, registrar has a high % of spammers and fraud sites, website is (very) young, website appears to be hosted by a company with a bad reputation", all according to https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/51west.properties...)Trust your instincts. 

@Matthew Hell Thanks for the post, I cannot believe I didn't see all the posts from previous threads exposing his scam! 

They are a SCAM.   

These people are the ones scamming the system and the politicians are idiots to provide unemployed people with free money when a part of that money (50%) should be going directly to the landlord to keep tenants in place.

How do you know it's an "elaborate scam and includes a circle of people"?

Using the "deeper pockets" theory, you go after whoever has the money regardless of their degree of involvement in the scam. 

I have a duplex in Columbus , OH.  One side is traditional rental and the other side I have furnished and have been renting as STR.  I advertise on Furnished Finder, Zillow etc.  Recently I have had 2 different people...

Note investors who think learning from people who scam others out of millions is a good idea and a way to have a good reputation in the space.
