Immediately writing the property name on a receipt and then scanning it to Dropbox is a way that I keep things separate.

I take that a step further by looking up property records before I call to make sure the name matches.

In fact, there are many reasons to hold your real estate outside of your personal name  for asset protection & business/  succession planning purposes.

The 1-A line is noted as my name or ASSIGNED.  

Once the option period is up, cancellation would only be for items specifically named as contingencies, such as financing.

Generally, if you purchase a property in the name of an LLC, you may end up with less favorable lending terms.
