Believe it or not, this is still one of the most horrific and unscrupulous businesses in existence and sh*t like this happens constantly....the regulatory agencies that oversee agents are full-time slammed with complaints and hearings about stuff like this.That said, there may be more to the story...did she simply ask you to pay her more?

@Zantiago Zurita, If you're looking for an attorney to do some work on your real estate transaction that includes a 1031 in MD then certainly a MD attorney will be needed.But if you're simply looking to perform a 1031 exchange you're looking for a Qualified Intermediary to act as the unrelated 3rd party who documents the exchange, holds the proceeds, and acts as your guide through the regulatory maize.
