What the utility needed you to was have the owner schedule a disconnect in the future then you could schedule the utilities to be put in your name, like a tenant move out. 

It can also feel more disconnected from the rest of JC with all the highway off ramps and underpasses..kind of reminds me of a mini version of Red Hook, Brooklyn... 

After reading many of the posts in this thread, I think the disconnect is most on BP don't understand the difference between an average return and a compound annual growth rate, so when DR does it they don't see it as a big deal?

Here's the disconnect I think.....Asking a guest to do the following: 1) leave your place relatively neat, 2) Don't leave dirty dishes with food on them, 3) take the trash out to the trashcan outside the back door, 4) throw the soiled linens on the bath floor.....Can hardly be called 'cleaning'........

I did buy a property where the septic had been disconnected and hooked up to city services.

Unless it is a larger lot, I would still go for a SFH on its own lot.It's a 5000 SQ ft lot for three homes all homes disconnected from each other
