What caught my attention about Albany is that Houses there seem to be on my price range and and I am interested in investing in a multifamily for house hack  and start my journey in real estate investing.

For a typical duplex or triplex, insurance can range from $1,500 to $3,000 annually, with flood insurance adding $600 to $2,000+.I’d suggest starting with a thorough market analysis to get a better understanding of the neighborhoods you're interested in.

For income I would estimate somewhere in the 1-3% range.

How far do traveling nurses prefer to be from the hospital, the houses I'm looking at range from 15 minutes away to 5 minutes away.

Do I need to adjust my price range?

(These are not in order of how profitable they are, it's just used as a way to separate them for explanation purposes. )The first tier of homes are 1-2 bedroom homes these are homes that are tailored ( or should be) toward couples or small families and can range between 100-250k.

Those prices range from $800k-$1.5M depending on the specifics but the income increase is as much and the cost to own is slightly lower because insurance, maintenance, and utility costs do not go up linearly on these making a bigger margin for you.  

That gives you enough margin to work with and make a profit and have the highest # of people looking in that price range since it's closest to the median price point of home here.
