Beware, not only will the tenant stiff you on the difference  (actually doing you a favor) but if you accept any additional funds fund the tenant outside of what is obligate per program requirements, you would have comitted a misdemeanor crime, punishable by 6 months in jail and a minimum of a $1,000 fine.

At that point, she can still charge the tenant rent until she finds a new tenant, but now she has an obligation to find a new tenant as soon as possible, using reasonable means.The tenant knew the landlord was an out of state landlord, so would not magically know when she moved out.My point to your post was that telling the landlord that she should not sue and should chalk up the experience and expense to an education/punishment was bad advice.

Alternatively, a person can go down the magistrate and have a sworn complaint done to bypass the police.What he did was illegal according to the California Penal Code, and there are options available for someone to pursue this should they wish to punish the individual.Now that does not mean it is a good idea to pursue this.

If it's bad though it typically means a lot (of bad things).Those with no credit history on the other hand shouldn't be punished in my opinion.
