But I realize the downside of major illness is loss of assets and/or bankruptcy.I realized when I brought immigration into this it was a whole other can of worms, but what bothers me is the perception of those who consume without contributing.

Not to get to into the economic weeds but when you as a society encourage everyone to go to college and limit immigration suddenly you don’t have enough blue collar workers.
