It's true, Banks and Credit Unions will not provide DU's as they are audited much more than brokers and lenders.

As others have mentioned, I recommend starting to attend some local meetups here and there just to start brushing shoulders with other brokers, investors, wholesalers, etc. to really get your feet wet without putting money on the line.
