The amount you would need to report as potentially taxable gain is total insurance proceeds less your adjusted tax basis in the property (your mortgage doesn’t get considered into this calc). 

It's pretty plug and play and then when you get the full report, it's all in one PDF.

This is proper planning and so smart to get educated way in advance of the first guy so you are totally on the right track.
