My job requires me to be equidistant from downtown SFO and Silicon Valley and so I am considering investing in Hayward, CA.

I work in Edmonton downtown. 

My real estate tech startup Clever, based in downtown STL, is a licensed brokerage, and everyone on the team had to become licensed agents -- but given that our full-time jobs are at a startup, none of us are "realtors" in the traditional sense. 

My guess is that this will drive down rents to the point where they would compete with the more traditional apartments in the downtown area.

@Kyle Marek I think that depending on where you are (close to the rail lines in SD, ocean, downtown) you could do much better renting by the night than by the month.

We don't want to be right downtown (and probably can't afford to be) but we want less than a 45 minute commute to the airport as my husband will be traveling often. 

My suggestion would be to go downtown to the zoning office and sit down with them and talk to them.  

Going down Midwest/South has similar trends.Employment is high, and at least the Downtown and food scenes are becoming slightly more bearable

FYI: Areas I am investigating are between Sandy and downtown SLC and then east of 15.

Wanted to get some thoughts in general about the Providence, RI market, especially the arts community and downtown lofts around Pearl Street.
