In my own personal experience, self-managing an STR can be quite a hassle at times, and not so bad at other times. 2 years ago my answer would have been that the juice is absolutely worth the squeeze for me.

Doing so could be considered a form of illegal eviction or "self-help eviction," which is prohibited by law.

I'm trying to migrate from Evolve, and I'm wondering how those of you who self-manage remotely handle emergency issues. 

If you wish to buy rentals using your retirement funds you simply need a self-directed IRA (or Checkbook IRA if you wish to have more control). 

I prefer local investments as it allows me to self-manage and avoid management fees.

Occasionally there are some that don't ask 1000 questions and are pretty self sufficient, just trying to maximize their time and network, so those may get some consideration.

hi everyone, does anyone have actual real experience in investing in real estate through self directed IRAs?
