Does anyone have experience purchasing a 5+ unit multi-family building for the sole purpose of operating it as a short term rental?

From my experience (being on the DNC list and getting dozens of telemarketing calls a week) the main strategy is to ignore it and call everyone anyway. 

Currently, we have a 200-amp service to the building, split into two 100-amp main panels for each unit.

Yes this is a Refi on a commercial property with additional large cash out included for sole purpose of reinvesting into another property, as well as a large operating line of credit in addition to the Refi is included.

It also makes it harder for other operators down the road--- not your main concern but we all impact each other.What about you and your wife live in the garage unit, and rent out the house for a lot more, at least until all this permitting is figured out.
