It's not exactly a selling point that most people are going to readily volunteer. 

I should get an award since I just passed my 25 years as a volunteer fireman. 

Brokerages are not going to volunteer information on them.

Just starting out, saving and getting your credit as good as it can be, inviting nearby investors to coffee or a meal, and volunteering or partnering with people doing what you want to do are practical steps, in addition to learning.

And because of my recent major life change, I have found it difficult to come up with a new direction.I know the standard answers of how to pull yourself out of a rut and ways to fill your spare time, like volunteer, get a hobby, work on yourself, meet new people, join meet up groups, etc.

While I have no problem with someone charging for their time/education, I do have a problem with the term "mentor" being used to denote someone who is getting paid to teach.To me, that's an oxymoron...no different than someone getting paid to do a job, but calling themselves a "volunteer."

I've never done desk duty, but a lot of agents volunteer for this because they can cherry pick the leads that come in.

Apathy of members was bad - once you volunteered for an officer's position, no one wanted to step up to take your place so you would be locked into a position for 2-3 years at a time. 4 - How can they improve the club to better meet your needs?
