There are however a shortage of event spaces in the area, so a large home on acreage where you created an event space might still get you some solid numbers. 

Every one says  there is a shortage of this yet everyone swears by their marketing method (then why is everyone having a shortage.. or complain it is so expensive?!).

@Michael Hacker I absolutely agree that prefab constriction is going to become much more popular in the next few years but the skilled labor shortage will affect prefab shops, in the U.S. especially,  as much or more than on site construction. 

As of this moment there is such a shortage that you don't have to be too specific.

This has also led to a shortage of affordable housing, and that makes it easy to rent out any vacant units you may have.As far as the Southeast goes, I have rental properties in Lousiana and Georgia - I'd be happy to talk about them and my experience as an out of state investor separately!

We have one of the best rental markets in the country, with an inventory shortage, so when she moves out you will likely have no issues finding a tenant.My suggestion would be to look at cash flow potential when you buy, which I’m sure you already have in mind.I would be happy to answer any questions you have and guide you to some areas based on her needs and yours as an investment.Melanie

There is a shortage of 3-4  bedroom units in this areas as well so if you can get your hands on a larger rental you will be able to get a premium rent for it.  

Availability is getting a bit tight as the market's been heating up, but it's still nothing like the total shortage we're seeing here.
