It’s a little more work because you have to remit lodging taxes, but other than that we haven’t had any problems.

I am really looking for general areas, prices and types of lodging in order to get a more precise idea on what we should focus on when we come to buy next year.

I know that in the Philly area, lodging with or without Super Bowl tickets is being sold as a package, for a hotel room and events included.  

When you compare discretionary travel spending for lodging vs mandatory spending for long-term residence, I'd rather get my rent from someone who has to pay vs. someone who has the option to either stay home or travel. 

They can lodge a complaint to the broker of record the other agent works for, however if that broker really doesn't care (perhaps because they're making both sides on the deal) and they may in on it because they're benefiting from it. 

Notice what types of lodging is available, what features it has, the quality, price, and look at their calendars to see how booked up these properties are.

BTW, Raleigh tourism numbers include primarily food and lodging tax receipts and (I believe) do not include residential STR at all, mainly because they are too small to count.
