I bought a duplex house near Scranton this past year and it is rented out .

I do a heloc on the house and I am the only borrower on the heloc.

The house was vacant for 5 years with a new roof (5 years ago). 

This creates a market for both short-term and long-term rental properties.Affordable housing, Compared to cities like New York, Washington D.C., or Boston, Philadelphia offers relatively affordable rent, or section 8 tenants, especially those who are relocating from more expensive areas. 

If you get cat urine in the house, it can cost you 10x the pet fee to mitigate the odor.

I'm sure OK has its share of dumps but you really have to drive around FL to truly appreciate how much low-cost housing there is.  

I am under contract to buy and flip a house that I am paying $615K for.
