Greetings everyoneNeed a little advice, im currenlty bidding in my local tax auction, theres a 4plex next to a duplex that i just bought from the landbank.

While this may seem like a no-brainer, they may hope to get a higher bid closer to market value, and so reject my offer and proceed to foreclose.Alternatively, I can let them foreclose and I will lose the property, but somehow have them pay me whatever i paid for it?

I put a bid in on two multi-units and got neither.

It takes a good bit of tenacity for surenarrow what market you want to invest in, start building relationships with people on the ground (realtor, lender, property manager, contractors), learn the market extremely thoroughly, then start bidding.

@Jay Wood  More than likely Wells Fargo will be standing at the auction alongside the guy with $35,000 and will bid the property up to $60,000. 

(ah, so paid answering service given the script "this is zillow" I use one as well for my business accept that the service pretends they are in my office referring the call to me instead of pretending to work for a totally different company in a bid to trick the caller). 

Set your price and don't let emotion make you bid higher.

When a bank decides to sell some non-performing notes, it tells it's traders to put them out for bid and those traders go to other people they know or to whoever their bosses tell them to go.
