In addition to flats and houses, we also have a location where we rent furnished rooms to international students and they tend to be among the least problematic of all our tenants - they are here to study and {someone is} paying a lot of money for the opportunity.When we do take on undergraduate tenants, they are normally in their final couple of years and our screening process filters the would be partiers and we are left with the mostly responsible.  

I'm assuming they are pooling all of the rooms of a similar type together and then divvying up the earned income among the various owners...2) Is financing an option?

If one individual misses a payment that could cause a ripple effect among the household and create future problems.

just chalk it up to a lesson learned there is no honor among theives and those that are not licensed and so on and so forth.
