It does not make them an expert and especially, it does not make them unbiased. 

Otherwise, the only way they are paid is by selling you something, so expect a pressure to buy instead of an unbiased advice.Bottom line: a real estate accountant is helpful continuously.

I also work for the one I was buying from so I'm not exactly unbiased.

to be clear we are not insurance sales people, don't have family in the business and don't have friends in the business so truly unbiased opinion…we use State Farm (Patric Kelly in Gig harbor) for our home, personal, and all rental props and will not use another firm..ever.  

On the other hand, a real estate agent in a particular area is not necessarily the most unbiased source of information about an area's prospects long-term. 

Perhaps they are overly negative but rather uninformed I would say......If any of you need info on South Africa, just say the word and I will send some unbiased stuff....promise!

The Texas Real Estate Commission (in my opinion) would look with a very jaundiced eye on a Agent with a Father-In-Law / Son-In-Law relationship to be an unbiased Agent and represent both parties.

The appraiser works for the bank (even though you are paying for it) and the responsibility is to form an unbiased (as much as reasonable) opinion about the fair market value of the property based on numbers.

I like to have an unbiased opinion on this, thus my reason for asking you.
