Rentals build wealth in the long term, require minimal effort once they acquired (though cetainly not zero effort) but don't spin off tons of cash on a daily basis.  

But in all honesty I have the amount I'm willing to spin total (purchase and rehab) that start me on my way.

Depending on what you build in real estate it may take 5-10-20 years to build up what you need to spin that much income off not to mention your family needs benifits ect to live on.
