I'm currently 5 weeks in on my new project with an ADU, this one should be fun, and just put in an offer today on another possible flip!

Every situation is be a little nuanced and as always "it depends" and that's what makes it fun.  

There is less risk of amoeba with cooler waters and often enough wind to windsurf on the lake in the winter.  

It was fun to look at that every time they lowered the price all June and July.

Heating costs go up in winter, as does electricity due to the reduced natural light and more people indoors.

There is no sense in hurrying to get a property to market heading into the slow/dead winter season. 

Its still on the market, winter time.

I'll admit I had to be patient but the CPA I'm working with did end up saving me way more than what I paid and was really fun to work with someone that geeked out over taxes and planning.

Also make sure you and the suppliers are using the "same technical language"2: show up as much as possible when you're subcontractors are working get your tape measure out and check plumbing stub ups door openings Concrete form dimensions and square and really anything else that will cost to be adjusted or impact your project down the road.3: lastlyif a subcontractor does not meet the preset expectations for completion do not wait around hoping they'll get their act together, fire them pay them out move on.I hope this helps, good luck it's a lot of fun!
