It's about having an income that will enable you to maintain your current standard of living for life.

The other option I potentially see is to partner with someone that has cash and/or better debt/income ratios and partner on the next purchase.

My apartments are in a lower income area, so I don't want it priced too high where it is going to scare them away from applying.

Also, I'd lease out the other bedrooms for additional income as well as practice screening, leasing, and interpersonal comms.  

My purpose behind my decision to pursue REI is to gain financial freedom for wife and I, my future family as well as have the ability to make sure my parents are well taken care of once they reach the retirement age.If I had to label myself I’d want to be known as an open minded rental investor for all long term, mid term and short term investing, with the occasional flip for quicker capitol to put back into another rental.

On here, when you say you want to partner with strangers, you will get a lot of incoming garbage.

It depends a lot on your risk profile and regular income.

I'm looking to invest in multifamily duplex or triplex in and around Albany to bring in rental income.

To pick a location, I understand I want to evaluate median income, a large population of those approaching retirement age, and a decently dense population.
