My daughter and I want to purchase a new property.

Hello,After hearing about it on Tom Wheelwright's podcast, I want to hire my daughter to help out with our real estate business. 

I’ve been investing since my daughter was young.  

Heres the email, I've changed the names:"John and Mary, and their daughter Katy are in the process of purchasing the house of Michael.

We are under financial duress payingfor a Loft downtown Poughkeepsie which was fine for two working adults, butnot for my 19 month daughter and a stay at home mother.If you take my plea into consideration, and continue to process the loan, wehave a VA Approved inspection by a verified HUD Consultant to include pestand termite inspection, a completed Appraisal and all the laborers involvedin our project are still in service and are taking percussions themselves toprotect their business, employees and ensure they are operating under CDCGuidelines.

I would live in the 3 bedroom with my wife and daughter, and rent out the 2 bedroom for $1300-1400.

He stated that the house has been vacant for a while and the daughter of the home owner was taking care of the house.

To give you an idea of the extent of the projects, we ripped out the kitchen, removed a extra stairwell, moved a bedroom wall that was off the kitchen, cut concrete and added plumbing to make the bedroom a laundry room, converted the old laundry room upstairs into a bathroom for my daughter, stoned a fireplace, new flooring and carpet and ran all new electrical and piping to the new kitchen.

I am in the process of getting contractor quotes and I am wondering if it is a good idea to request a quote from the father of my daughter’s best friend here.

As @Holly Kaufman noted, a SF with garage unit or mother-daughter is much better so the spaces can be separated.
