All 5 units currently rented:  LT renters $850/mth, Retail Shop space $850/mth, and 3 STRs averaging 6k per month. 

I have started looking for listings recently.I am a bit confused when people ask to "shop around" for a conventional loan.

I continued to shop and had more time to look for other options.

That means if you and another veteran apply for a VA mortgage together you can build or buy a property with as many as “six family units (the basic four units plus one unit for each of the two Veterans), and one business unit.”)My Take:I interpret this as possibly a mixed use building with 6 residential units and one business unit like a restaurant or coffee shop down stairs.

Plus, good communication is key, so if you aren’t getting it, keep shopping.

You need to know how much money is in your wallet before you start shopping.After you have figured out your finances, you should decide what you want to shop for.

I'll check out TenantTurner as that sounds interesting, although Avail performs well as my one-stop shop.
