You can plead the case that it will be an increase in revenue (property tax) and value to the community. 

Never let their comments make you feel guilty for your own success!

I wouldn't even feel guilty, I'd get all 15 of us moved over.

Guilty feelings are free.An honest, good landlord reference is a real benefit, and maybe you should consider actively helping them find a good place?

I am used to people conversing more honestly Portland seems to be a honey pot of crooks between business owners and their brokers who are equally guilty.

BTW: You think the current tenants feel guilty about getting rent that is way under market rate? 

So, for all of us landlords (myself included) that are guilty of griping about these laws but taking little action to prevent them in the first place, THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO MAKE AN IMPACT BEFORE THE WORST LAWS YET ARE PASSED IN NEW YORK STATE.
