Luckily, My oldest brother is a contractor so we work along side him in the repairs around the house.

I love the process, and I love getting to do it alongside stellar folks.  

There've been a few small hiccups but so far so awesome.

If I'm the GP putting together a syndication, is it possible for me to invest alongside investors on the LP side with a Solo 401K, but also create a separate entity on the GP side to receive the promote?

@Sadie Bynum I can only weigh in with my personal experience on this, but when we had this hiccup on a purchase, we sent two documents to the sellers.

Most of the houses in Providence are 100+ years old and do require attention to keep in good condition.If you plan to manage from NY I would suggest getting professional management unless you confident your son would be able to handle the management alongside his studies. 

There were some last minute hiccups, but we were able to get everything straightened out.

When I got laid off, I saw an opportunity to try to educate myself with alongside a partner who is skilled in rehabbing.

Ideally someone who I could potentially work alongside with during the renos to learn and who will price around me doing some of the work.
