No thanks.I look at real estate as a lifetime investment, and hopefully future income for my kids and their kids.If you bought a cabin last year and already want to sell, you probably didn't go in with a reasonable expectation of the investment.  

Hey @Divine Nasikpo,If you have limited cash or assets, there are still ways to start earning in real estate:Wholesaling: While there are mixed opinions, wholesaling can be done with minimal money.

I have posted other real-world ones in past. 

The returns that investors require is generally based on their perceived risk of the project and the investment period.With my CFO clients who do real estate development, most LPs in the small-scale residential space (SFR & 2-4 MF) are investing for 3-5 years and are looking for a preferred return of 8% with an IRR of 16%-18% for turn-key and 18%-24% for value add.

I've read many of the BiggerPockets books like - House Hacking- Flipping- Estimating Rehabs- Multifamily Millionaire Book I and II- How to Invest in Real Estate with Low or No Money Down- Investing from a Distanceand even some outside of themand have been wanting to do something in Real Estate for awhile.

To generalize broadly, most who call themselves private or hard money lenders (or any of the other euphemisms for the same thing) typically originate first-position or (rarely) second-position performing real estate loans.
