In fact I am managing $500k project now where I am bidding out materials purchasing through the supply house.If you, the customer.... purchase the material, pick it up, load and unload it, make it safe in your project house, deal with any shortages, overages or returns, take on all warranty issues, etc, etc, then I suppose you could justify not paying the GC any markup.
