I have just received a draft of my tax return with the schedule E.

They require 48-72 hours notice to schedule anything onsite so we've been waiting 2 weeks now for a Section 8 initial inspection date to be scheduled by them.

They take 10% for all managed construction, so this is not a favor to ask for progress inspection on a project that was behind schedule several weeks, and was a vendor from their list.

Not saying anything about selling or not.  

@Andrew Steffens When you say you "The value is in the contracts which can just be assigned." it makes me think you are dealing with a wholesaler trying to sell you a property.

Once they confirm, and if they sound somewhat professional on the phone (you get a good feeling); I would then schedule a showing.

On the other hand, the safe option is to send them anyway, and that way there's no risk, so for most rental owners, I usually recommend they do send them.This qualification doesn't affect whether or not you can deduct expenses, or what schedule the rental is reported on.
