Ellis your response in particular expands beyond mere prose   wandering perilously close to the realm of literature, something one might have expected to read in a short story or essay :)   You are surely right in the observation that the fairness of the terms of a deal is always shaped and conditioned by whichever  side of the table one is sitting on.

There is a way to sue the  city, the judges and their lawyers and it will not cost anywhere near a 100k but it has to be done pro se with all of us together in the higher courts.

i almost forgot to add that before i pick a LAWYER, i would contact my homeowners and/or landlord insurance policy issuers to see if all claims can be handled by THEIR lawyer.i for one don't believe in individuals (natural persons) being required by today's litigious society to 'have a lawyer' for legal counsel burying themself deeper in debt (lawyers aint cheap or even necessarily affordable by ur average civilian) -  especially when we are the plaintiff and/or when our insurance is supposed to provide that service we pay monthly or semi/annually for - but that's just me, pro se.

Also a declaration of bankruptcy, which can be file pro se by the debtor, will put an automatic stay on the foreclsoure auction.This all may be more complicated than what you had originally bargained for, and if you are new to the game you might want to pass and move on to the next deal.

You can do an eviction Pro Se, but from what you've written, an attorney is highly suggested.

You will have to use a lawyer because you cannot represent yourself properly in these higher courts (I think technically you can but it is hardly ever done as a pro se litigant).
