I am not convinced as to the longevity of copper vs. membrane shower pan, that's a tough call.Also, do not skimp on a cheap stamped steel tub.

I have a tenant who I rented to in 1984, who's still living in the same place, but tenant longevity is a whole 'nother subject.You might find interesting the book "Buy and Hold" by David Schumacher.
