Many times electric baseboard is sized to maintain temperature, but not enough to allow the temperature to be lowered during the day when people leave home and to bring it up to temp when they come home.

(there is enough space under the roof to set up the central AC).A few pros and cons that I can think of for each option:Mini split:-Flexible room temperature control-Less costly to operate if I turn it off in the rooms that I don't use-Takes more visible space, not very pleasing to eye-Renter might loose the remote or break the unit (somehow!!)

@Alejandro Ferrer you can have thermostats that limit the temperature the heat can be set to but where are you located that you think they can turn the heat off when they aren't home?
