Warren isn't just Berkshire Hathaway - he does all kinds of deals on his own outside of Berkshire.That reminds me: just yesterday I saw a Berkshire Hathaway Realtors sign in front of a house.

Look too for memorandums filed on properties as these folks will be locking up properties.Talk to the title companies, tell them you're starting out and ask them who some of the area investors are, they usually don't disclose clients but remind them it's public record who buys and that they aren't being asked about specific deals, they may tell you some names..Same with RE attorneys, talk to them and just let them know you'd like some direction, not referrals as they don't like making it seem as if they are endorsing anyone, but just as to common knowledge of who buys.

But at the end of the day life is so much easier when you don't have to drag someone into court over a civil suit or send letters back and forth between attorneys reminding someone of what's legal and what isn't.

Let me remind you of your estate palnning background, there are ways to circumvent the due on sale issue, the granting of any interest that can be tied into any estate planning matter is excepted from the due on sale clause, using the exceptions circumvents the matter.

I remind them of late fees due and tell them "Now you're late and owe a late fee, just like you do if late with your credit card company.

I think it is great for young interested investors like myself to hear these stories and to remind ourselves that everyone starts somewhere and to hear some of the learning curves that others had to overcome on their road to success!

I shared about self directed IRA's, I sent him a link for a self directed IRA website, and he reminded me of his personal preference as well: he likes to talk to people in person when doing business, rather than over the phone or email.
