I’ve spoken to several GC’s that have all said this is doable and safe.I’m sure everyone is going to push the permit side on this forum, but can anyone make a case for not pulling permits

Per the link below, I'm seeing that in a "sleeping space" that the ceilings are permitted to be 7' (or less, for a bathroom):https://www.map-strategies.com...However, the chicago code says the height should be 7' 6":https://chicagocode.org/13-64-....So which is it?

They could be good source for leads, they should be able to do the site work or refer to someone 'recommended' who can.For bare land- Your short 2month timeframe for permitting (city or county) and utilities is not going to be realistic or even close, most of the time.Your best bet is to find land that has a mobile (demo and scrap it) then replace.

I have no personal interest in owning anything in FLA  I like doing deals for others but not own and especially not build.. time lines for permits are insane there at least they were, maybe that has gotten better..

i know this is kind of an old thread, but just wanted to add a few things here: 1. yes you will have to go through permitting process. you will also register this as a SFH with the county.2. you will need to contact DMV to deregister this as a mobile home. 3. you will have to make sure you remove the Axel and the wheels  under the home and make preparations to fix the property to the foundation you already have. currently dealing with similar situation in GA, hence researched a bit to find out the process.
