Fear is the biggest thing that holds people back from investing in real estate.

Our prices are such that we fear the appraisals won't come through and we don't want to lower our prices.

The answer is that to NOT invest in Houston due to fear of flooding is probably a BIG mistake as there are some very simple precautions you can take to mitigate the risk extensively.

For sure when you say the word "hidden", wells and septic shouldn't be your biggest fears.

My biggest fear is the low/slow resale values. 

The question of the future will always be paved with the fear of the grass being greener on the other side, @Brendon Woirhaye said it right.

Seems most homes are rehabbed and hitting the market around the same time so lots of listings even on the same street coupled with the fact that lots of Houstonians fear returning to an area that flooded even once...much less multiple times.

@Violet Barnes those fears is exactly why its good to proceed.

My fear is that it's reacting to something harmful in the air.
