My suggestion is that they invest their money in a good immigration attorney and focus on getting legal status.

We have less immigration which has been a traditional demand driver in Toronto.

I am currently on a non-immigrant work visa in the US working as a financial analyst and am looking to invest in real estate on the side.Having done some research I know my options are limited as I am not a permanent resident.

While I do not own a condo, the first investment property I bought is a student rental in Lexington near UK's campus.1.

My experience in real estate is limited to reading a lot of articles and books, listening to BP podcasts and owning my first primary residence property in London, UK and next primary residence property in Brooklyn,NY where I currently reside. 

I don't know if the tenants are new immigrants or what, but yes they are very low.
