Log cabins take a lot of maintenance ( mainly oiling them if your in an area with high temps) I owned one at one time it was beautiful and the wood interior was very inviting.

One suggestion I was given was to add a clause to your lease that payments are first applied to utilities then rent.Is anyone in Maine / New England doing this type of submetering?

Rentometer has avg rents at only $1067/mo so I'm also not sure about paying that much for such little rent for a long-term hold perspective when from what little research I've done you can get more elsewhere for the same buy price - maybe someone looking to park money for tax purposes or an all-cash deal hoping for a big upside?
