If you're not a designer, even a do-it-yourself solution can take a lot of time and be a huge distraction.  

I think most of the problem for me was that back then, I wasn't patient and I allowed myself to be distracted by computer games and other junk. 

From the trainee's perspective, new folks believe a trainer is going to provide them a treasure map that leads to certain riches.From a trainer's standpoint, they know most trainees will get distracted, become frustrated, loose interest and go on to the next thing that will capture their attention (for a time).

I also want to encourage other newbie investors to be ready for hurdles and obstacles but don't let those distract or deter you.

A small word of advice if I may...there's so much to learn with REI, but it can quickly become overwhelming and even distracting.

I know in SE Michigan, and many other midwest areas, that $100k can get you to around $5k in a year, and that $15k in about 2.The key is to have a plan, stick with it, and don't get distracted by "shiny objects" that take you off course.  

This could distract the viewer (maybe a potential customer) from your website and send them off on a YouTube safari where they end up watching videos of cats flushing toilets or some such nonsense several hours later.
