Right now, many lenders are a bit leery of STR properties, and if these were just stood up a few months ago as STR's you likely won't have the income history a lender is looking for.

Even the executor, who stood to make more money off the public auction, wanted the deal to simply go through with the original buyer and be done with it.

i would say the most cost effective unit would be a garage with a bonus room, typically you can get half of the picth as footage in the truss so if you have a 40x60 garage you can get livable space above if (built in the truss) of 20x30=600 sq ft.the only down fall we have seen is stairs but most people dont mind if as long as your location, fit and finish are good

Walls were up and sheeted in less than 10 days on both 2800' with 1300' garage duplexes..Trusses set in about a day and a half on both.

During the inspection, our structural inspector found that the load bearing trusses of the garage were not done right.

Apparently my dog was snooping for food and must have stood up in front of the range using his paws to balance himself.
