I know that you might need a licence to officially legally establish yourself as a bird dogger or something like that; I'm not really too sure.

Is there any issue with a landlord or rehabbed who is a licence contractor running their own jobs and pulling their own permits. 

I paid quite a bit of money to get my licence, and during my driving test it hit me hard that this not what I want to do.

If you want to have a cool name you file a fictitious name DBA registration with your state and the account can be named anything you want....  

Seems like West Palm Beach Municipality impose a Licence over owners to rent properties by a year.

The prospective tenants that responded to the fictitious ad were able to give me phone info and suspected location of the scammer but by that time the ad had been posted for three days and the crooks were probably long gone.
