This is my first post here, so I hope I don't mess it up :)My name is Hugo Laranjeira and I'm a real estate agent/brokerage founder (Nomad Real Estate) /investor/ all around problem solver in LisbonI wanted to talk a little about how Portugal is a great place for investors right now and, on the other hand, I'd like to ask a few questions about the US.First of all, I don't know is this is well known, but Portugal is today the best gateway to anyone coming to Europe to live or invest due to our visa program.Did you see the news about Madonna coming to Portugal and all that publicity stunt about how Lisbon is beautiful and such?

If you go to the Vermont Manufactured Housing Association website, vtmha.org, and look at the member directory, I'm sure there is someone there that can sell you a beautiful modular home.

@Nathan GuyetteThe beauty of real estate is that you can depreciate the property minus the land over 27.5 years, depending on how much you are collecting in rent, you will likely pay little to no taxes after deducting real estate taxes, mortgage interest, deprecation and any repair and expenses.

I wouldn't change anything because I know where I have been pointed me in the direction of where I am going, and the view is beautiful. 

Nola is beautiful but also a stepping stone and it looks like the next promotion at my company would be to Tamp Bay / St Pete, Florida area, in 18 - 24 months, so that's where I'm more likely to invest.What I'm interested in:(1)  buying and living in a 3- or 4-family bldg(2)  buying and living in a 5- or more fam bldg - but what sort of creative financing would I need to make that happen?

San Diego will have its dips but overall ppl aren't going to move away from beautiful San Diego!
