They don't have the infrastructure my borough does, they don't have the leadership, they certainly don't have the tax base, whereas the bulk of my borough is clear B and A-class properties, after a drive past a cemetery.I would venture to say my situation is really not that unusual in the Rust Belt.

Eventually the city will (through changing strategies or enough voters getting angry at current leadership) to start to affect the conditions on the ground.  

If the leadership of Toledo doesn't change the ways they do things,  they will continue to see brain drain which has been a problem in Toledo for years.

Over time they were pushed aside in terms of market capitalization and leadership.

Fink has been grooming leadership at his organization to take over the reigns.

Technology will never take the core human element out of the equation, things like: Initiative, leadership (and knowing when to follow), courage, honestly & fairness, good communcation skills/ability to listen, financial literacy, persistence/stick-to-it-tiveness, negotiating, persuasion, tactfulness, and so on.

I will work on leadership training for my team so they don't have to rely on me for most of the day-to-day decisions.

Leadership is not a "wait and see" proposition.

Lee Iacoca truly hit it on the head with his recent book highlighting today's lack of leadership.
