The buyers, with good reason, were spooked, and tried to re trade at $100,000. we declined, and they attempted to breach contract. but the buyers agent never collected an EMD, so after months of back and forth with a lawyer involved we are now stuck with a nice $8,000 legal bill and still no EMD or compensation for locking the house up for over 5 months. holding costs in upstate NY will make your stomach churn.... why does anyone live there?

I would not do the deal if you can’t stomach the new tax bill.

It’s so dirty that the insurance denied that claim, probably banking on a grieving widow not having the stomach to contest it.

For folks like me who self manage it can work out well if you can stomach it .

The benefit is, if I have a vacancy or struggle finding a roommate, the monthly payments would be less than $1,500/mo - something I could easily stomach on my own if I had to for a while.

Here's what you I would reflect on:- My next goal- Are you okay with the reduction in cash flow to scale- do you have the stomach / tolerance to make the move- make sure you have an exit strategy
